Website name change

I started my first official website about a month ago. I played with creating a website over 10 years ago, but never really had a purpose until this year. I wanted something not too personal but a descriptive fit for me when selecting a new URL. I decided SavingExpert.Info was what I wanted as I enjoy my role as a personal financial analyst, but also as someone that would give timely advice to help people save money in a variety of ways.
The problem was with the name in that I could tell someone it, but they may get it mixed up with “savingsexpert” or the “.com” website which is completely different than my own. But I had cool email addresses for someone who was looking to get in contact with me could email me through the website or at tellme@savingexpert.info. I produce a newsletter for my investment business and thought this would be an excellent opportunities to gather more readers so someone could subscribe to newsletterplease@savingexpert.info.
I had completed the needed things to get my website to start coming up first when searching specifically for it, but it wasn’t enough as I would accidentally type “.com” when trying to logon. That was it! I decided to change the name to www.savingwithmarcus.com. Nobody else has a savingwith… website, so I can be the first. And get the “.com” to boot.
I was even happier when I found that my whole website could be transferred extremely easily with the least amount of changes. I just updated some links to my blog and moved on. However, I did lose my blog completely and have to rebuild it from scratch.
I look forward to posting more blogs about different ways to save money on what you already spend money on or are looking for like cell phone service, Amazon.com, Financial Offers,…
