Coaching is Everything

I was disappointed last week when Florida State lost their game to Oklahoma. I was disappointed in the defensive coaching this week for Florida allowing Alabama to continue to run it up the middle on them. It makes me wonder if the offensive and defensive coaches ever talk to each other. I say that because Charlie Weis would run his offense just like Alabama. They exploited the weakness of Florida’s defense all day.

On the other hand, Charlie Weis did not do the greatest with Florida’s offense. Sacks and negative rushing yards were the story. And next week they are playing number 1, LSU. So it isn’t getting any easier.

Florida Gators biggest offensive problem is due to their weak offensive line play. They have had no protection for their quarterback and could not open up any running lanes for the fastest running backs in college football. Their offensive linemen scare me a little as every one of them is wearing 2 knee braces!

The Gators have some bad news that might be good news for next year. Their quarterback, John Brantley left the game with an injury. The freshman quarterback, Jeff Driskel stepped up and will be the future of the Florida Gators offense in the next couple of years.
