I love technology and really enjoy listening to music without commercials when I am in the car. Whether it is listening to Pandora or to my MP3’s, it is better being able to use my phone than waste time and money making custom CD’s to listen to in the car. The auxiliary cable is a bit of a pain in the butt to connect every time I get in the car.
The auxiliary port became more difficult as my Nissan Altima has Blue Tooth phone capabilities. My HTC Thunderbolt allowed me to stream music through the cable and seamlessly switch to the radio blue tooth when a call came. Unfortunately, Samsung does not work that way.
With my new Samsung Galaxy Nexus, I had to keep the Blue Tooth off and just use the auxiliary port for calls if I was going to stream music.Today they make radios that have Blue Tooth streaming capabilities along with use for the phone, but I was not going to take out my factory Bose radio to put an after market radio in my Altima.
After doing some research, I found they do make a Blue Tooth music streaming device that iPhone users get to do what I wanted. It is the Belkin Blue Tooth Music Receiver. I quickly ordered one from my favorite technology outlet EBay. The item was new and worked perfectly for my HTC Thunderbolt when I had it. Once it was set up, all I had to do was turn on the Blue Tooth on my phone and the music streaming application I chose to listen to. The music played through the receiver which was connected to the auxiliary cable plugged into the radio. The Thunderbolt even switched to the car radio Blue Tooth when a call came.
Unfortunately my Samsung Galaxy Nexus did not work as perfectly as the HTC. The Samsung connects to both Blue Tooth devices and switches when a call comes, but the call quality is horrible over the radio. I did find that when I wanted to use the phone, it is clear when the Belkin devices is disconnected. It is kind of a pain, but it works for me until that day I decide to yank out the factory Bose radio. Not likely!
