Inspirational Technology

The flip phone disappeared many years ago. Old people don't even have flip phones anymore. Only Jeff Van Gundy still has a flip phone.

Always have the best phone
I had a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but dropped it one too many times and had to replace it... last year. So I purchased a like new Samsung Note 2 and used it a month until the Samsung Galaxy S4 came out a month later. After enjoying my Samsung Note 2014 tablet for a few months, I decided that I would be more productive with changing my phone for a Samsung Note 3. I utilize the pen window to bring up a mini dialer from any screen to call customers.

Always have the best tablet
Last summer, I wanted the Samsung Note tablet after using the Samsung Note 2 for almost a month, so I
found one as a open box at Best Buy in Kissimmee and got it for $350 which is almost $200 off. I enjoyed using it for business. Getting documents signed by clients was cool, but the funky different charger was not so cool. As soon as the new Samsung Note 2014 came out, I sold my 3 month old tablet and purchased the current edition as it utilized a micro USB charger like my phone. After a few price matches, I ended up returning it on the last day possible when the Samsung Note Pro on Verizon became available. I liked it better because it did not have a menu button and the magazine layout was so much cooler to use.

Television
My 32" Samsung LCD was nice in my office, but I wanted to put it the spare room for my daughter to use when she is visiting us. So I felt it was time to do it as my eyes don't see as good as they did years in the past. I fixed my eyes by purchasing a 42" LG LED HDTV for my office. Not only is the picture bigger and better, it doesn't put out as much heat and uses less energy. This was a win in so many ways.

Summarize
I prefer Samsung phones and tablets where you might prefer Apple products. I find mine are extremely useful for my line of work and I enjoy them more in my free time as well. A nice television is great to have as long as it doesn't become a distraction to get your work done. Regardless of your preference, I feel that it is important to have the best in terms of smartphone and tablet not for a snob appear, but to add that cutting edge professional appearance for your business. The right technology used the right way should make it easier to be organized and productive as well.

Success from Basics (The Real Point)
These items may not appear to be luxurious, and they may not even appear to be so expensive that a homeless person might have them. But the average person does not feel the need or have the desire to spend money on being up to date every 6 months to a year. But you do not desire to be just average if you are still reading as you desire more. The difference from success and ordinary is putting forth a little more effort.

Implementation
Today and everyday, make it your goal to accomplish the basic tasks that are holding you back for an hour of maximum effort on two occasions. That means once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Do not do more than one hour at a time as you will find it difficult to repeat everyday. Do not stop before that hour for the fact that if you had a job, you would be there for 4 to 8 hours with minimal breaks.

You work for yourself and have more freedom. Freedom coincides with responsibility. You are responsible for your failure to do the basic things as you will be responsible for the success. Unfortunately it takes much failure to experience the success.

In my case, I work directly with family planning. I must make initial contact and maintain a level of contact. They appreciate my service and expertise. Everything begins with a simple phone call.

By not making a call, I am saying No to what I like, dream and desire. I like my technology.
I dream of lavish vacations and an exotic car or two. I desire never to have to work a job again. No one phone call will get me any of it, but a consistent approach will allow me to accomplish what impresses others so I may one day be that older person in the office that younger professionals are excited to hear talk for 5 minutes.

It starts with the Basics. For me that is a phone call or two. Smile and Dial!

What is it that you have been putting off? It is not too late to get it done immediately. It is OK if you have to start over. If you don't do it today, you will end up working for someone else thinking on what could have been because you did not take care of the Basics.
