Procreation is Not A Requirement

I found it funny at the gym about a year ago when someone I regarded as a friend said that he didn't understand how someone didn't want to Procreate. I knew who he was talking about, another friend that plays basketball with us. I didn't have anything to say because I don't believe he was right.

Today I see on MSN:

Eva Longoria: 'I never had a desire to procreate'

I find it extra interesting that many people I know who have kids and say they love kids are the same ones looking forward to getting a break from their children. These men and women often times have children with different partners whether married or not.

The ultimate slap in the face to our society are those who are unable to have children naturally. It is a shame as many of these people would be some of the best parents, but will never have the opportunity to better our society with their offspring. Many will choose to adopt children. Unfortunately the adopted children were unwanted by their parents and at least their parents knew that they would not be good parents for them. 

Stuff happens everyday. It is up to you what you are going to make of your short time on this Earth.
