I got my Verizon Samsung Note 4 when it first came out. I knew that Lollipop was a month away from being introduced and the new Android platform and Samsung would take some time to update even their newest flagship phone, but I was fine with that. It was not that big of a deal for me since Samsung did a great job with KitKat showing a roledex style with the recent app button.
The time has come and Verizon started pushing the update to Lollipop for their Samsung Note 4 about 2 weeks ago. As usual, my wife's phone received the update about 4 days before my phone. The phone appears faster and the battery is not much different, but I have experienced other problems.
I use my Google Voice number to make all my phone calls, but since the update it doesn't work correctly anymore. When I dial a number and hit send, nothing happens. I have to dial almost every number twice. It is so annoying!
The next occurs when using Action Memo which I use everyday to make quick notes. When I click to minimize it, the Action Memo disappears most of the time. Then I click the S Pen button and select Action Memo again, nothing happens. I have found that after those 2 processes, I will click the S Pen button again and select Screenshot and suddenly the minimized Action Memo appears. This happens about 9 out of 10 times when minimizing Action Memo.
I use Nova Launcher normally, so I switched to TouchWiz and it still happens. I uninstalled Nova Launcher and it still occurs. I also use Wallpaper Changer to randomly change my wallpaper throughout the day. I uninstalled it and used a basic wallpaper and the Action Memo still disappears when minimizing it.
Workaround: Using TouchWiz, you can pin Action Memo as a widget on a homescreen. Unfortunately it is so slow when reopening the Action Memo that it doesn't make sense to use. The best way is to open S Note and use Action Memo inside there. It really sucks to have to use it this way, but it works.
Please, please, please fix and update the Samsung Note 4 to Lollipop 5.1 soon.
