HTC Incredible Savings

In August of 2010, I was allowed to upgrade my Verizon Wireless phone and I chose the HTC Incredible and it was one of the best decisions for technology that I have ever made. The phone has not only saved me a ton of money, but I have also made money with the phone as well. I saved more than $200 the first month with the phone which far exceeded the $149 purchase price.

Google’s Android operating system allows so many free applications through it’s marketplace. The first application I downloaded was Pandora. I had Sirus Satellite radio in my car in the prior year, but turned if off as I was tired of them trying to charge me more to be able to listen to games when it was free a few months prior with my subscription. Pandora is free and with an Auxiliary jack on your radio you can listen to it in the car.

I quickly realized that I no longer listen to my music CD’s anymore and probably will never again due to my new music technology, so I listed them all on Amazon.com and started selling them like crazy. I was selling them so quickly that my wife suggested I try to find more to sell. I then downloaded the Craig’s List Notification application and searched for CD’s. Within minutes I located different individuals trying to sell their CD collections for less than a dollar a disc. Selling CD’s on Amazon has turned into a part-time business that helps my self employment income.

Due to the CD business, I needed supplies to ship the orders. One other of the first applications I downloaded was the Coupon App where I found Office Depot coupons for $10 off $25 purchases at the register. I purchased envelopes, bubblewrap, tape and paper at a discount multiple times during each month. With these great discounts I was able to break even when I sold discs for a penny on Amazon with the shipping payment minus their commission.

The Coupon App also provides many coupons for eating at different restaurants like iHop, Waffle House, Denny’s, Checkers, Ruby Tuesday and my favorite Qdoba. I love Qdoba’s Ancho Chili Burritos and I love them even more when I get 50% off or buy one get one free. The application has saved me money at Best Buy also. The nice thing about it is that it is not running all of the time and only shows me coupons when I look at it.

The Coupon App and Pandora are just two of the many applications that I use frequently on my HTC Incredible. The most important application is Google Voice. Because of Google Voice, I turned off my home business phone line and turned off my text messaging plan with Verizon. Google Voice is my new business line that has the best voice mail imaginable. The voicemail spells out the words that were left on the message. You can also play the messages directly from the application without calling a voice mail number. It allows you to set personal greetings depending on the caller.

One of the best parts of Google Voice is that it works all of the time because my phone is on Verizon’s near perfect network. Reception is never an issue in my house unlike other “4G” services that I tried to use for home Internet. Clear told me that I will never get a consistent and constant connection with them because it is still a cell phone connection. It was that moment I decided to never mess with them again as I have never had issues with my service with Verizon Wireless.
