A realtor I know recently purchased an iPad with purposes of using it for his business. He bought it with the intent to connect to his computer in the office to access MLS. This is to fix the problem that iPad’s are not compatible with his local MLS website. Therefore he is going to use a virtual private network to connect to his computer at work which is a number of years old and outdated.
Android tablets are compatible with MLS. Why not get one of those? This iPhone4 user believes that iPad must be the best since the iPhone is the best. NEWS FLASH: Android surpassed Apple last November and most recently surpassed Blackberry as being the most popular system.
The popular system does not need the most aggressive advertising campaign since it is already the best. Gieco has the most aggressive advertising campaign… why don’t we all have them? Because Gieco’s rates suck!
Which brings us back to the iPad’s competition. The newest competitor to the iPad is the Motorola Xoom tablet. Motorola makes a fine piece of equipment that has a dual core processor and decent battery. Unfortunately it is too heavy. My Samsung LED 20.5'” monitor weighs about the same and did I mention it is 20.5” which is twice the size of the Xoom tablet?
Toshiba has a tablet coming out soon that will utilize a LED screen that will provide for better competition. I am sure that Samsung will come out with a bigger better version of their Galaxy Tab soon. The most exciting thing I saw was Chrome OS.
I found Chrome OS when I was upgrading my laptop’s Google Chrome Browser. It is in the developmental stages now, but they claim that the laptop will start up within 10 seconds and utilize cloud computing. I find that hard to believe when my Google Android based HTC Incredible takes a couple of minutes to start up before I can make a call!
