I remember a few years ago when Jacksonville released Byron Leftwich and allowed David Garrard start at quarterback. I thought this was the greatest move they did as they got rid of the statue quarterback to start the fast and powerful David Garrard. And it proved to be the right move as David Garrard lead the Jacksonville Jaguars to some impressive wins with his legs and his arm.
I know Garrard has had a few injuries which sidelined him the in the past couple of years, but I still think he has a lot to offer. Maybe he will have a lot to offer someone else after losing some weight like Byron Leftwich has done recently. Leftwich is looking better than he did in college as Pittsburg’s backup.
Whether this works out or not, it still isn’t going to solve Jacksonville’s biggest problem and that is their lack of a quality coach. Jack Del Rio was impressive his first couple of years with a revived defense, but in the past couple of years defense is missing in Jacksonville’s formula.
Who cares who is at quarterback when you have Randy Moss who can catch anything you throw at him. Wait! Nobody has Randy Moss! Just a suggestion.
