My wife sent me a link to an interesting article about milk fat today. Growing up, my mother always purchased 2% Milk. It was only when we would go to restaurants and drank milk did we have whole milk. As a grown up, I have purchased 1% milk for years. After reading this article, I think I will start getting 2% again.
I have lost as much as 30 pounds in a matter of 4 months on a couple of different occasions in the past. This was only made possible due to dating someone a number of times at a variety of restaurants. When I lost the weight, I wasn’t dining out that much as was working out at least once a day.
Now that I have been happily married for 5 years we find that we do eat out a little more than what we should. We also don’t work out quite as hard as we have in the past. However we thought we could compensate by eating healthy.
This article about milk fat just shows that what we think is healthy, isn’t always the case. If you think about it, the largest animals in the world, with a few shark exceptions, all eat plants or krill when it comes to whales.
Therefore diets don’t work because you can get big if you eat too much of anything. Cut the snacks, the chocolate and the ice cream, but don’t cut the fat in your milk. I am sure they will have another article out soon linking milk substitutes with something horrible like cancer.
Which milk to you drink?
