Azteca Mexican Restaurant

For the past couple of months I have wanted to go to the new Mexican Restaurant on University Blvd in East Orlando near the University of Central Florida. It is located right next to the new IHOP in the old Unos Building. The service was friendly and the restaurant is very beautifully painted inside. And on to the food...

The salsa had a very unique flavor as it has a little spice with a little sweet. It was perfect with the warm chips. I shared with my daughter a burrito that was filled with rice, some chicken and very little beans. The flavor was OK, but not great. My wife had a chimy contact which was a bit of a change for her. She did share a bite with me and it was good not great. She shared her refried beans which she had plenty of unlike my plate. The beans were good, but refried beans are like macaroni and cheese: not often do they get messed up cooking them, not to say it can't be done.

On my last couple of bites I found something odd that I was chewing on. There was a small piece of aluminum foil in my burrito! They took it off of our bill, but it didn't end the dinner on a high note. Maybe I should have had a margarita. Lol

I would say I would give them another try if the food was better. It was quite bland and is not worth going back just for chips and salsa. I was hoping for better as Amigos in Waterford Lakes is the best on this side of town and it is Tex-Mex and not authentic.
