I find it funny how many times today I have seen online and on TV that the pass interference call should have been made and stuck with. For example: http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/bell-if-it-looks-like-pass-interference-its-pass-interference/ar-BBhwlTa
I am not a whole hearted Dallas Cowboys fan, but I could not believe that the ref threw the flag for pass interference when I saw the game live on Sunday. No, the defender did not turn around when the ball was thrown, but the Lion's receiver (Pettigrew) did grab the Cowboy's defender (Hitchens) enough to keep him closer or else they would not have touched.
The article above mentions that Hitchens held Pettigrew's jersey earlier in the play, but they were grabbing each other the whole way down the field. It just so happens that the receiver did more grabbing when the ball was in the air and therefore it should not have been called pass interference.
It was very late for them to change the ruling especially after announcing it to the crowd. Dez Bryant should have been flagged for coming onto the field to protest. I am curious to know if the head referee really changed the call or did the official that threw the flag changed his mind after Dez Bryant came on the field to protest. Either way, someone was going to be mad.
