I am interested in getting a tablet for my business and really wanted to know about the ones that Verizon sells with a contract. It just so happens that a representative from Motorola was there and did a very good job explaining the difference between the Xoom and Samsung new tablet.
I would get a Xoom if I were to get one. I was also impressed that Verizon's tablets can be used as a mobile hotspot at no additional charge. However the cost of the data plan is $10 more than tethering my Samsung Droid Charge. Then I looked at the price.
I think Verizon is making a huge mistake pricing their tablets $130 more with mobile plans for 2 years than the cost of tablets with WiFi only. If their goal is to lock you into another contract for 2 years, they should discount the tablets below the cost of the ones with WiFi only as they do with the phones. That would offer an incentive that might be worth considering.
