LeBron James showed his leadership skills when the Heat played the Indiana Pacers in the conference finals. The biggest difference was when he told Mario Chalmers to shut down Lance Stevenson and it was the turning point of the series. The Heat closed out the Pacers in game 5 in Indianapolis.
The Heat moved on to play the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA finals only to fall flat on their face in 3 out of the 4 games so far. San Antonio lost last year to the Heat despite a fatigued LeBron James. Game one was affected by the air conditioning not working properly in San Antonio and LeBron was fatigued and crapping again. The Heat rebounded with a win in game 2, but have failed to compete in the 2 games in Miami.
Miami has failed leadership between the head coach Erik Spoelstra putting the wrong players in like Rashard Lewis and not playing the spark of the team that has brought the championship home for the past 2 years in Shane Battier and Udonis Haslem. Coaching is one part, but there is more.
LeBron James put on a show in game one, despite having to come out many times in the 4th quarter due to cramping. For the Heat to be the first team in NBA Finals history to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the championship, James will have to show his leadership skills again and get the Spurs shut down in game 5. The Spurs paint penetration must be stopped to help prevent the passing to the hot shooters. Diaw has been dominant in the paint even when James has guarded him.
This series looks like when the Heat lost to Dallas 3 years ago in the finals. It will put the bookends on the Heat's championship run and no dynasty to report from Miami.
