The day has come for website builders and to break the price fixing of GoDaddy.com and other hosting giants like HostGator.com.
It was announced the other day: Marketing Land: Google Opens Its Domain Registration Service To All U.S. Users.
For $12 a year you can park your domains at Google and private registration is included. I have held my domains at 1and1.com because they initially offered them for $4.95 for the first year. They went up to $9.95 the next year and then to $14.95 a year recently. Those prices at 1and1.com included private registration which many other companies like HostGator and Godaddy will charge an additional $7.95 to $9.95 for it.

I had 2 domains up for renewal that I have decided to give Google a try with their domain management. I just hope Google this means that Google will improve Blogger and their other website builder tools. Hopefully I can move all of my websites over to Google for a lower cost before I have to renew my HostGator package in a couple of years.
